Clos de Lôm Tempranillo and Malvasia has just received an outstanding rate from the famous british critic Tim Atkin, Master of Wine and a great influencer on the international scene.
These two “outstanding” ratings with 92 points closely follow another score of 92 for Clos de Lôm’s Monastrell aThese two “outstanding” ratings with 92 points closely follow another score of 92 for Clos de Lôm Monastrell awarded by Sarah Jane Evans, another Master of Wine who recently included Clos de Lôm’s rosé in her selection of the best “Spanish Rosados”, in the prestigious British wine magazine Decanter.
Malvasia, the charming Mediterranean white
Tim Atkin describes Clos de Lôm’s Malvasia in his notes as sweaty on the nose and with a good Malvasia character, as if it were an old vineyard. Jasmine, crushed matches, jam. Understated, freshness of chalky soil. Woody, creamy texture, balanced and with acidity. And he concludes that it is “a charming Mediterranean white”.
Tempranillo, vibrant and fresh
Atkin’s tasting notes on the Clos de Lôm Tempranillo describe a wine that is perfumed, sweet on the nose, wild strawberry fruit and very summery, with a touch of black pepper on the finish. For the critic, this wine merits 92 points for its great definition, its varietal character and its flavoursome and fresh finish. In the words of the Master of Wine, it has a vibrant style and the freshness of high-altitude vineyards.
“The generous scores that the international gurus have been awarding our wines over the last few months put us right where we were aiming to be. Here at Clos de Lôm we are strongly committed to our harvest and our final product, which is what makes the wines from our winery, in the words of Tim Atkins, fresh and vibrant. We feel very fortunate to see ourselves mentioned in the tasting notes, and proud to be able to share it with the rest of the world”, explains Lucía Serratosa, winery manager.
